How to maximize yields from your groundwater supply
As an alternative to conventional vertical wells, Reynolds, Inc. also constructs
radial collector wells. These wells incorporate a vertical shaft which then
utilize horizontal screen laterals to collect and filter the groundwater. Typically
installed close to a dependable surface water source, these wells take advantage
of a natural filtering process called
Riverbank Infiltration (RBI).
This helps reduce chemical treatment costs and ensures the owner of high quality water
production.
The first collector well constructed by Reynolds, Inc. was done in conjunction with
the Fehlmann Company of Switzerland, known internationally for their expertise in
radial collector and RBI technology. This initial well was built in Louisville, KY
and boasted, at that time, some of the longest screened laterals in the world,
measuring up to 240 feet.
